In the Fall of 2003 we moved to our new facility  after 33 years on the east side of Lake Ewauna.

We built our new boathouse, Jim Kerns Crewhouse, in Veteran's Memorial Park during the summer of 2003. In the winter of 2004/5 the City announced a deal to expand Vet's Park by an additional two acres just east of our boathouse.  The area below the road in the above picture is all new as of the summer of 2005.  Prior to this the boat launch area near the lower left was the only lake shore in the park. A 30 foot easement will allow for pathway completely surrounding the lake .

Due to our location, our club decided to begin naming our new boats in honor of Veterans.  After all, it was the courage and sacrifice of our nation's military which allows us the freedom to enjoy our lives and our sport.

Our first boat named under this policy was named in honor of 2nd LT David R. Kingsley, an Oregonian who posthumously received the Medal of Honor after he cared for and ultimately gave his parachute to a wounded crewmember when his B-17 was shot down on a raid of the Ploesti oilfields in Romania.

Our second boat is named after Lt Colonel Bill Harris, a Klamath Basin resident who flew a Lockheed P-38 Lightning in the southern Pacific and achieved 16 confirmed air victories.
